filmography

A Saudi-German producer and director with over 15 years of professional experience and multiple award winning films, documentaries as well as corporate videos. In the mid 90's, as a teenage entrepreneur and filmmaker, Farahat started a film distribution company, copying, packaging and branding uncensored American films on VHS tapes. The business prospered until the internet reached Saudi Arabia.

Farahat began his film career in Los Angeles in 2005, before graduating from California State University with a BA in Radio, TV & Film. He completed his 1st feature-length film, Saudis in America (2007), a documentary sold on Amazon, Netflix, and Blockbuster. His roles have varied, with his first job as an Assistant to the Producer of AmericanEast (2008) starring the monk Tony Shalhoub. He then wore multiple hats as Associate Producer, 1st AD, and Editor on Three Veils (2011), an award-winning film about Muslim women battling sexuality.

In Saudi Arabia, Fahmi produced and directed The Corporation (2011) a micro-budget TV mockumentary with an edgy depiction of gender segregation and sexual harassment at the workplace. More recently, he served as Associate Producer on Bunuwirah (2020), the first Saudi horror film to hit local cinemas. Furthermore, on November 30th, 2020, Farahat led a passionate team to produce Yajuj: Curse of Iram, a live interactive online immersive play streamed via seven different characters' perspectives. In 2021 he co-founded Dramaturgys, specializing in film development, packaging, and producing films and immersive exprincess.
