Logline

7 year old Arab-American Lulu will do anything to straighten her hair before the most important day in her life, the first grad.

Synopses

Lulu, a 7-year-old Arab-American girl, hates her curly hair. Along with her straight-haired younger sister Dada, Lulu plans to do anything to straighten her curls before the start of the most important time of her life - first grade. The girls’ attempts lead to humorous results and an important life lesson.

 

The 5-minute short, directed by Saudi filmmaker Fahmi F. Farahat, features Arab-American comedian Aron Kader from Comedy Central’s “Axis of Evil Tour,” with music by composer Vicente Avella, whose credits include FOX’s Family Guy and American Dad. The film’s characters are based on a children’s story by Saudi illustrator Heba Farahat.
